My name is Joe Stamm, and I always wanted to record an acoustic performance, where I play my songs, tell my stories, and the audience listens. And by listen, I mean they sit down, don’t talk to their friends, and actually digest the words in my songs.

This record is that dream. On May 4th, 2019, I sat on a stool in front of a sold out audience at the Apollo Theater in Peoria, IL, and I told stories. Most of those stories were songs, and some were just me talkin on a stool. And the audience listened. And we recorded it.

I named the record, “Stories: Live & Unplugged.” It’s simple, it’s ornery, and it’s honest. It’s me.

"Merry Christmas (From Sun Rd Hill)" is a pre-release off this album. Not because it's the best song off this record, but because it's Christmas time and releasing it now seems more sensible.

February 28th, 2020, I’m gonna release the whole 15-track sum’bitch.
