Speaking of Thanks & Gratitude…
On the left is Ian Goldberg and to the right is Jason Miles, both of Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment, who helped put this whole show on. Photo was taken back stage on the night of the recording.
I owe alot of it…
What’d Hugh Grant say in that bachelor life movie? – “No man is an island?” Aside from all the obvious folks, ya know, like mom, dad, my sister that made fun of me for singing Aladdin, the ceiling, etc, there’s so many folks to thank. Thanks to Chris Knight for writing songs that inspired me to want to do the same. Thanks to Todd Snider for the best live album I’ve ever heard, that kicked me in the butt to finally do my own. Lots of snazzy sponsors made this night happen (check ‘em out at https://www.joestammband.com/sponsors). The folks at 104.9 the Wolf talked about it a bunch. Jason Miles and Ian Goldberg got excited about the project, helped me find a venue, made a bunch of time and effort sacrifices for me. Their team at Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment sold all the tickets, provided security and helped market the show. Thanks to Jeremy and Warne Honsman of Custom Sound & Lighting for the fancy lights and the verb. And a big tip of a big hat to Bill Duncan, for recording all this and dealing with my nitpicking, prodding, and sometimes hard-to-please-ness. Also, Randy Leroy of Tonal Park, you’re my hero for swooping in at the last moment to get us back on course and on time by mixing and mastering this album. Sometimes, it just takes a couple Metamora kids to get shit done. Laurie Donlan…I don’t even know what to say. You’re a mover. And a champion. And one of those rare people who actually deliver and follow through to help others. My beautiful, talented and very tolerant girlfriend, Elise Kingland of Blue Heron Graphic Design – I simply couldn’t do any of this without you. Thank you for designing the program, all the album art, all the merchandise. Thanks for selling all that merchandise, putting custom “Stories” labels on 300 bottles of water, and all the other stuff in between that people appreciate subconsciously but don’t always notice. Oh! And here’s to DAVE! Mr. Glover himself. Long Hot Summer Dave, Dave-javu, MisbeDaveior, etc. You sir, are downright bitchin.’ Thanks for all your commitment and help over the years. I’m honored to share a stage with you.
One last time, thank YOU. Yes you. The one reading this. Thank you for giving a shit. Thank you for liking my music. Thank you for being in my corner. I’m excited to live the rest of this story with ya’all.
This is not the end. It’s not the beginning. It’s the story that you and I are writing every day.
