So…why crowd fund?
A little transparency…
Our new album is done. Sort of. I’ve approved the mixes and our producer is handing it all off to the mastering engineer (which is the final step before sending it to be pressed to vinyl/CD).
I was hoping we’d just be able to ship it right off to the vinyl plant, announce a release date and launch a pre-sale. However, great engineers and producers (and new vans I suddenly found myself needing to buy) are expensive. I don’t think the delay will be long. But that’s where you come in…
We’re launching a Pre-Sale/Crowdfund Campaign in order to drum up the last stretch of funds to get this sucker totally wrapped up and a release date determined.
I was hoping we’d graduated from the crowdfund jargon…for my own ego’s sake, I suppose. But it’s also exciting that we’ll get to partner up to make another album happen together. And we’ll get to throw in bonus gifts with stretch goals again and whatnot. So that said, here’s how it’ll work…
Elise has once again drawn up album art, and accompanying merch designs, that I’m incredibly proud of - they cut right to the heart of this record and they make my heart smile.
And now, YOU CAN PRE-ORDER ALL THAT STUFF. Once we reach our funding goals, I’ll set a release date. Once that release date arrives, we’ll ship you all your stuff and you’ll have played a very active role in making this record happen!
Matt - the guy working diligently on our basement who I let hear the rough tracks awhile back - says it’s our “best album yet.” My friend down the street who has been a diligent listener since 2013 says I’ve “finally found my voice [with this record].”
I’m hoping you will all agree. And I’m hoping you’ll be proud to be involved.
PS: You get free bonus gifts and stuff.
I wore a different Steelers jersey every day in the studio (except for the one day I wore a Penguins jersey). Here’s me on Greg Lloyd day. And Bruce, probably thinking about cheeseburgers. And our wonderful producer Al Torrence…who played on the album a bunch. And is better known for his marvelous exploits as guitar player and producer for Charles Wesley Godwin.
